Young Money boss Lil’ Wayne just did it again. Well, almost did it again.

This latest album Tha Carter IV just fell a little short of the 1 million albums sales mark by a few thousands.

Surpassing if sales projections by soundscan which said he was expected to sell 850,000-900,000, the rappers moved a cool 965,000 knocking all competition out of the ball park.

With this figure, his is the 2d highest selling album of the year, second only to Lady Gaga whose Born This Way sold over a million when it was released earlier this year.

Weezy also outdid competition by rockers Red Hot Chilli Peppers who also dropped their album last week and managed less than 300,000 units.

So hip hop ain’t totally dead in sales at least.
