JAY Z SETS ANOTHER HIP HOP RECORD

Rapper Jay Z just keeps getting bigger and bigger with time. The Roc Nation boss is set to make a record when he becomes the first rapper to headline a show at the New York City showroom Carnegie Hall next year.

The shows are scheduled for the on Feb. 6 and 7 of 2012, and he will be playing a pair of charity concerts benefiting the United Way of New York City and Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation, a body through which the rapper sponsor gifted kids’ education.

Ticket sales are set to begin first with the $500 to $2,500 apiece tickets aimed mainly at corporate and high net worth individuals, then a public sale will tentatively kick off on Jan. 30 to minimize ticket scalping.

Recently, Jigga also became the first rapper to score 18 number 1 hits on Billboard’s Hot 100. He is closely followed by Lil’ Wayne and Ludacris who both have 17 no.1s a piece.
