After delighting local fans with his recent first ever trip to India earlier this month, reggae dancehall star Sean Paul might have just dropped a bomb that will leave his audience heart broken.

The "Get Busy" star revealed in an interview with local website that he was keen on changing his sound from his traditional reggae dancehall to something more international and the effects of the change were already palpable in his latest album "Tomahawk Technique"

”I have reached a point where I don’t have to prove myself to anybody in dancehall or reggae music. I’m up there with the best of them, so right now I’m just expanding. I’m trying to bridge the gap, broaden my artistry…

I noticed that of late a lot of pop music has had dancehall influences, so I asked some big name producers like Stargate, Rico Love, DJ Ammo and Benny Blanco to make their interpretation of a dancehall beat.

Sean Paul l hit big in India with his "Dutty Rock" album and has since then been a permanent fixture on DJs track lists with hit after hit. It remains to be seen how the switch will affect his run in the new strongly EDM influenced club scene.
