GANGSTERS THREATEN SNOOP
Snoop Dogg just pulled off a concert in Oklahoma with no incident. But it was no ordinary show, before the gig took off, members of a gang that was upset with remarks the Dogg made in an interview in 2009 had issued a statement demanding that the rapper call them up and apologize over the remarks.
Last year, in a show with DJ Green Lantern, snoop was responding to a question on contemporary gang culture when he said this…
Gang life has dramatically changed in L.A. In California we are playing by a different set of rules and regulations, so all these cats out here you see throwing up their flag and reppin' need to be careful because that could end up real bad for them.
The gang Snoop was talking about is the Crips, and the irate members were members of the same gang’s Oklahoma branch. In a video statement, the gang member demanded Snoop call him up to “Correct the situation” or else, they (the gang) should not be held responsible for the repercussions.
There is no word on whether snoop called up the gang or not, but the show went on unhindered.
Snoop is a veteran of gang warfare, with his life having been threatened before, after the killings of Tupac and B.I.G. he had to get bodyguards from the Nation Of Islam (A radical Afro American organization) to fend off a threat of assassination.
