CURREN$Y, THE NEXT BIG THING
The dirty south is smoking hot and shows no signs of slowing down, so many new stars in hip hop who are shooting up the charts happen to be southern rappers. They just keep going on and on like a super force getting better and bigger day by day and showcasing hot new talent.
One of the scorching new guys to emerge out of New Orleans is rapper Curren$y who dropped his debut on us titled "Pilot Talk" on July 13thá however he is no overnight sensation who picked up the mic a week before.
Curren$y has been active in the independent scenario having already dropped two albums. He began rapping as a teenager, and as luck would have it, he got a helping hand by Southern Rap Legend Master P who kept him on his label for a while. He moved on later and inked a deal with Lil’ Wayne's label Young Money Entertainment where he stayed on till 2007.
The Young rapper wanting to get a big break soon launched his own label Blu Roc Records and got a distribution deal with Def Jam . That is an impressive debut and a bold move for a new cat. Two singles for the LP titled "Roasted" and "King Kong" have been released and are doing the rounds. The album also has some guest appearances by Talib Kweli ,Snoop Dogg and Jay Electronica.
So for those who can’t get enough of southern rap chopped and screwed, this is another one for all y’all .Sit back and let Curren$y do the talkin.
